What are the Benefits of a Private Yoga Session?

Group yoga classes are wonderful, but studying individually with a qualified and attentive teacher can deepen your practice in ways you will find truly beneficial and inspiring. Individual sessions are also wonderful for anyone who is just starting out who may need special accommodations and/or modifications.

One-on-one sessions are an excellent way to move your yoga to a new level, receive special assistance for specific challenges, and/or get all those questions you have answered.

Here are just a few of the reasons people schedule private sessions:

  • There is a specific aspect of yoga or a certain pose you find challenging with which you’d like personal assistance

  • You are rehabilitating from an injury and need alternative poses a teacher may not have time to assist you with in a class setting

  • You have certain goals, interests or concerns—such as flexibility, balance, strength or meditation—you would like to focus on

  • You are a beginner who feels shy or uncertain about coming to group classes and would like some one-on-instruction before doing so

  • You are a new teacher or teacher in training who would like assistance with teaching techniques, Sanskrit understanding and/or pronunciation, sequencing, or other aspects of teaching

  • You would like a personal assessment and recommendations for poses that would most benefit you

  • You would like assistance establishing a home practice

  • You have questions about yoga philosophy and/or meditation

  • You would simply like more personal attention than group classes allow for

I moved to Lawrence with my family in the fall of 2017 and soon after gave birth to my second son, experienced the death of my Grandma, changed jobs twice… all while figuring out for myself and with my husband what it meant to live in a new place, build connections, and be true to ourselves.
